(DLG). The DLG Feldtage 2024, the trade fair venue for German and international crop professionals, is now open for exhibitor registrations. Organized by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), the open-air field event with trial plots is aimed at companies active in crop cultivation, plant breeding, plant protection, fertilizer input, agricultural machinery, consulting and services. Outdoor stands, trial plots, and a marquee, as well as machinery demonstrations, will be available for the presentation of exhibitors’ products, services and farming techniques. Co-organizers this year are the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Raiffeisen Waren-Zentrale Rhein-Main eG Cologne and Raiffeisen Waren GmbH Kassel.
Guiding theme “Crop Production out of the Box”
The DLG Feldtage 2024 will follow the theme “Crop Production Out of the Box”, which denotes how farming benefits from adopting new approaches in the face of challenges. “Agriculture thrives on the ability to adapt to changing natural conditions, new economic as well as political demands and consumer trends,” explains Andreas Steul, DLG Feldtage project manager. “The DLG Feldtage is the venue for crop production professionals who don’t let these developments get the better of them, who are prepared to try unconventional farming methods and who are willing to challenge conventional thinking and practices. In the spirit of thinking and acting ‘out of the box’, we will therefore bring the DLG Feldtage 2024 to life with fresh ideas,” adds Steul. The technical program will be focusing on crop variation and biodiversity, as well as forward-looking farming techniques and alternative crops.
Location Soester Börde
The DLG Feldtage 2024 will be hosted by the Brockhof Estate, located in the heart of the Soester Börde. Preparatory work will start on site in 2023 during the summer. Both the Tägder family, who manages the farm, and Carolin Möller, the owner of the estate, are looking forward to this edition of the DLG Feldtage, which was rescheduled due to the pandemic. The Brockhof estate farm cultivates potatoes, sugar beets, winter wheat, barley and silage corn, as well as silphium perfoliatum, on some 290 hectares. Arable farming is supplemented by broiler chickens and a biogas plant. The last edition of DLG Feldtage took place last year at Kirschgartshausen estate, Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg in June 2022.
